Essay on Problems of Human Resources Development - 1158 Words
Problems of Development Even though Menme care has integrated human resources development into their strategic planning there are still some noticeable problems. One of the common problems that faced Menme care when offering training to its employees was staff resistance to learn new skills and change. Some members of staff that had been with the company for a long time were very reluctant to go on any training. This could be for many reasons such as anxiety around education and re-learning (particularly older employees). Also resistance to change, again this is for many reasons such as many employees sitting comfortable with current running of the company, the thought of having to learn new skills and ways of working can be dauntingâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Therefore it is important that management ensures that courses that staffs attend are relevant and beneficial to both staff and the company. Sometimes the wrong training has been given to the wrong staff, for example domestic staffs were sent along to training that was only relevant to them for the first half the day of training, the rest of the day focused upon giving medication to patients. This is not part of their job at all therefore there was no point in them been there. Due to staff capacity it can often be limited which staff can attend which training. Therefore staff can miss out on training opportunities. To enable staff to attend training courses, management has to ensure there is enough staff around to cover shifts back at the company. This therefore limits who can attend the training and therefore uneven distribution of training can happen. It can often be a case that certain training is only provided annually, at certain times of the year or as a one off training course. As a result some staff may lose out on training and development opportunities, this can cause conflict within a team. The company has now devised a new way of saving money on training; the company policy was that after the induction training giving to the new staffs, the company will train all staff to achieve a level 2 NVQ but the company has turn to recruiting new staff that already has level 2 NVQ so that they donââ¬â¢t have to invest more money in training staff theyShow MoreRelatedHow Strategic Management Plan And The Human Resource Planning Process1410 Words à |à 6 Pagesenhance the strategic plan of the organization. According to the survey, the Australian restaurants those do not use the social media marketing have decreased their sale by 10% and have started to use the social media marketing. However, statistical data reveals that 71% of the Australian consumers prefer to take information via social media and give their feedback regarding the service (Kasemsap, 2017). Maximum brands of the hospitality sectors are using the social media marketing in Australia. On the other hand, the employees of the hospitality sectors also prefer the application of social media in the business sectors to promote the business. As stated by Rahimi et al., (2017), social electronic commerce has a major role to improve to develop the business and to attract the guests in the restaurant sectors. In order to improve the brand value of a business social electronic commerce plays an important role in Australian hospitality sectors. Application of the social media marketing leaves a positive impact on the customer's mind and the marketing strategy becomes enriched with its application. Market researcher and the strategy makers reveal that Australian restaurant sector can reduce their operation cost by investing in the social media application. However, the social media cuts the advertisement cost of product promotion. In the traditional marketing the promotional campaign i s costly rather than social electronic commerce and its also time-consuming. According to Horsk et al., (2017), the success of social media application is based on the policies that are taken by the restaurants to use social media marketing. Application Zomato, which is a food-based social media app present in the mobile, is beneficial for the Australian food sectors. However, through this app, the restaurants are able to give detail information in their menu along with their product price. Hence, the consumers get detail information and become interested to purchase food products. As argued by Raghavan, Desai Rajkumar (2017), there are some barriers besides the opportunities for social electronic commerce in the business sectors. However, it is difficult for the restaurants to communicate with the people who are not habituated with the digital application. Therefore, the privacy of the information is a major issue of social media marketing as information regarding the organization may be damaged through the electronic commerce. Therefore, personal information of the users may be disclosed by the use of social media application. Misleading of the information is another negative aspect of social electronic commerce. On the other hand, an impulsive behavior of the consumers develops through the application of social media marketing in Australian sectors that often compel the customers to buy unhygienic food products from the food sectors. Apart from these network related issue also affects the flow of the social media marketing in the context of Australian resta urant (Tan et al., 2017). Literature problem The entire literature review reveals both the positive and negative impact of the social electronic commerce in Australian restaurant sectors. However, there is little account of the factors of social media marketing in restaurant sectors. In a literature review, critical evaluation is necessary (Wang, Pauleen Zhang, 2016). In this current literature review section, proper critical evaluation is required based on the impact of social electronic commerce in Australian restaurant sectors. Gaps opportunities This current literature review highlights on the advantages and disadvantages of the social electronic commerce in context of Australian restaurant sector. However, some major barriers to application of social media marketing in hospitality sectors are also discussed in this section. Hence, the gap of the literature is there is no suggestion about the improvement of social media marketing in business context. Based on this gap the further research can be carried out, which brings a new opportunity for the future researcher over this topic. The social electronic commerce is effective for the Australian restaurant sectors to improve their business performance. The social electronic commerce is less effective to maximize the business performance of the Australian restaurant sectors. Design and methodology of the current research The qualitative method focuses on the interview process. However, the reliability and the validity are the prime areas of the qualitative method as the collected information should be confidential (Abed, Dwivedi Williams, 2015). Probability sampling technique is selected in this method. Therefore, 3 managers from different restaurants of Australia are selected for the interview and considered as the sample size. Data has been collected by conducting the interview of concerned persons through the qualitative method. In this methodology, threat and opportunities of social electronic commerce are the independent variables. On the other hand, the effect of social electronic commerce on Australian restaurants is the dependent variable. Quantitative method Positivism philosophy, deductive approach, and descriptive design are selected in the quantitative method. The descriptive design focuses on the analysis of existing theories and concept (Turban, Strauss Lai, 2016). Questionnaires are considered as the research instrument in the quantitative method. Probability sampling process has been taken and 25 employees of two different Australian restaurants are considered as the sample size. The quantitative method includes survey as the data collection method. The collected data has been represented through using tables, graphs, and charts. In order to measure the validity and reliability, the bias should be discarded and diplomatic feedbacks from the participants are excluded. Limitations of the research Many limitations have occurred while conducting a research. However, the short time frame is a major barrier to this research. The researcher was not able to gather the information properly due to lack of time. On the other hand, due to lack of financial support the researcher was not able to access the paid journals. Therefore, some journals were not valid these are excluded. On the other hand, some articles are not currently published as a result these are discarded while collecting information. Apart from this, some journals provide irrelevant information that is not reliable, which is a big limitation of the current study. Conclusion The above piece of work reveals the opportunities and threats of the social electronic commerce in the context of restaurant sectors in Australia. However, it has been found that the social media marketing is a modern technology that enables the Australian restaurant sectors to improve their promotional practice and to meet the current need of the target market. Application of different apps is an effective approach for the business owners to communicate with their customers and provide product details to them. However, there are some drawbacks of the social media marketing besides its advantages. One of the most important is the breach of confidentiality of the personal as well as the organizational information. Therefore, network issue is another issue that hampers the continuity of the social electronic commerce. References Abed, S. S., Dwivedi, Y. K., Williams, M. D. (2015). Purism Essay Example
Purism Essay In his essay, Purism and LEsprit Nouveau, David Batchelor characterizes the Purist movement as a serious, thoughtful and ambitious project. Purism was Modern Art movement that was founded in France during the 1920s. It was a movement that was spearheaded by artists Charles-Edouard Jeanneret and Amde Ozenfant in their publication entitled LEspirit Nouveau. In general, the Purists considered logic, order, and control to be some of the most valuable qualities to exist in works of art. The emphasis in Purism was most heavily placed in rationality, clarity of conception, and precision of execution. The Purists were critical, on the other hand, of the capricious qualities of art, and emphasized that art should not merely aim to please the senses.Which basically meant that any excess of decoration was considered to compromise the purity of the artwork. Due to the mostly schematic qualities of Purist artwork, according to Batchelor, it was often compared to the Cubist movement. While Jean neret and Ozenfant considered Purism to have, in fact, evolved from Cubism, they also believed it had transcended beyond the principles of Cubism into something more ambitious. Their belief was based on the idea that Cubist collages and paintings were often somewhat ambiguous, and were unified by connecting and overlapping shapes. This resulted in a sometimes diagram-like organization. While the Purists maintained a schematic quality similar to the Cubists, in contrast they kept the objects on the canvas separated and placed in a delegated space as opposed to connected and overlapping. This focus on process aligns Purism with the larger concepts of modernism. The purists also saw the industrialization of the modernist movement as a positive sign of uniformity and mass productive design, which required any inessential ornamentation to be eliminated from the design, therefo

Crimes of Serial Killer Gary Michael Hilton
Crimes of Serial Killer Gary Michael Hilton Gary Michael Hilton is an American serial killer whoà murdered and beheaded four hikers in Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia between 2005 and 2008. Hilton is sometimes referred to as the National Forest Serial Killer since most of his victims bodies were found in national parks. Although convicted in only four cases, he is believed to have committed many more killings. Trail of Death In January 2008, Hilton was sentenced to life in prison in Georgia for the death of Meredith Emerson, 24, of Buford, Georgia. After that case, authorities from Georgia, North Carolina, and Floridaà began piecing together evidence left behind by a trail of bodies that fit Hiltons modus operandi.à He was subsequently charged with and convicted for three additional murders. In April 2011, Hilton received a Florida death sentence for the murder of 46-year-old Cheryl Dunlap. Two years later, in 2013, he was sentenced in North Carolina to four life sentences for the 2007 deaths ofà John Bryant, 80, and Irene Bryant, 84. The Meredith Emerson Case On New Years Day 2008, 24-year-old University of Georgia graduate Meredith Emerson went hiking on Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest with her dog Ella, which she had done on many previous occasions. This time, however, she failed to return from the hike. Witnesses remembered seeing Emerson talking with a gray-haired man who appeared to be in his sixties and had a red dog named Dandy. Emerson used her wits and martial arts training to fight off her attacker for four days, desperately trying to save her life.à Eventually, she suffered a blow to the headà that incapacitated her. Hilton killed her and left her decapitated body in the north Georgia mountains. After Emersons disappearance, investigators working the case found surveillance photos of Gary Michael Hilton trying to use Emersons ATM card. In February 2008, Gary Michael Hilton was indicted, pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to life in prison- all in a single day. The Cheryl Dunlap Case On April 21, 2011, Hilton was convicted for the February kidnapping, robbing, murder, and dismemberment of Cheryl Hodgesà Dunlap, a 46-year-old Sunday school teacher from Crawfordville, Florida. Dunlaps decapitated body was discovered in the Apalachicola National Forest. Despite efforts to fight it, Hilton had been extradited to Florida to face charges for Dunlaps murder.à Hed avoided the death penalty in Georgia but would not be so lucky at his second trial. A Tallahassee jury of six women and six men deliberated for only one hour, 20 minutes before unanimously recommending a death sentence for the serial killer whod avoided execution in Georgia.à The John and Irene Bryant Case In April 2013, Hilton pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four additional life sentences in federal prison for kidnapping and murdering an elderly North Carolina couple in Pisgah National Forest in the Appalachian Mountains of western North Carolina. Hilton had been camping scouting for potential victims before selecting and ambushing the Hendersonville couple who were out for a hike on October 21, 2007. He killed Irene Bryant using blunt force. Her body was later found by authorities several yards from where the couple had parked their car.à Hilton then kidnapped her husband, took his ATM card, and coerced him into providing his personal identification number to access money from an ATM. Mr.à Bryants body was found inà Nantahala National Forest. A day later, on October 22, 2007, Hilton used the Bryantsââ¬â¢ ATM card in Ducktown, Tennesee, to withdraw $300. Federal authorities became involved with Hiltons prosecution after autopsy results showed that John Bryant died of a gunshot to the head from a .22 Magnum firearm. Other Possible Victims Hilton is believed to have killed Rossana Miliani, 26 and Michael Scot Louis, 27, among others. On December 7, 2005, Rossana Miliani disappeared while hiking in Bryson City. A shopkeeper told the police that Miliani, who appeared very nervous, came into her store with an older man who looked to be in his sixties. The witness reported that they purchased clothing and that the man told her he was a traveling preacher. It was later learned that Hilton had stolenà Milianis bank card and was trying to use it. Miliani was beaten to death but Hilton was not charged.à On December 6, 2007, the decapitated and dismembered body of Michael Scot Louis was found in Tomoka State Park near Ormond Beach, Florida. The Aftermath and Legacy Hilton remains on death row.à A judge delayed his appeal in the wake of a U.S. Supreme Court decision in January 2016 declaring Floridas death penalty law unconstitutional. In a chilling footnote to the case, it came to light that Hilton had once been involved in the development of a murder movie that bore similarities to the crimes for which he was eventually convicted. An Atlanta attorney, who also produces movies, revealed that in 1995, Gary Michael Hilton helped him come up with the plot for the film Deadly Run.
